Mikurajima Island ( and its neighboring Izu island, Miyakejima) is known for free dive activity with a resident of wild dolphins ( Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin). The island is legally part of Tokyo although it is around 200 km south of Tokyo. Other retreat includes mountain trekking with volcanic terrain. You can contact local guide for more info
It takes about seven and a half hours from Tokyo Takeshiba Pier by ship.

Depth Range: Typically 5-10 meters
Water Temperature: 10 - 20 °C in spring, can up to 25 °C in Summer and Autumn
Water Conditions: Often rough and the activity might be canceled, depending on wether
Seasonality: from April until November (closed Dec to Mar)
Transportation: Around 7:30 hrs by Ship from Tokyo(Takeshiba Pier), to Miyakejima. Then another 50 minutes to Mikurajima’s dive spot
